The fear of cold calling!

Cold calling is one of the most intimidating and uncomfortable experiences in sales. There is no formula that is going to work for everyone since it all depends on the service you offer and the individual or company that you're selling to. One fact it gets better with time and calling the more calls you make is what's gonna improve your skill.

But if you're new and the amount of rejection and the silly things you blabber with frustration is overwhelming you to dial, let me share with you a few tips I came across to:

  • Have a script, to begin with

Memorize it and prepare how to change gears accordingly

  • Better if you don’t try to sell on the first call

warm them up, earn their trust, and set a meeting day

  • What do you have to lose?

there might be no gain but there is absolutely nothing that is  going to be taken away from you

  • Be more of a friend they don't know they need

It takes much effort but is rewarding to understand the people and company your calling, to get them on their soft side

  • Get in the mindset of closing

but be prepared for all the wrong ways it could go

  • And finally, don’t take things personally!

It has been known for a while now comfort and success don't see eye to eye, so, Laugh at your mess-ups, learn from them and get on that dialer until you get it right!
